Coming back to today’s topic, we would be talking about home remedies for dry and rough hair. Dryness is a difficult situation to deal with as it may leave you with frizz, tangles and lifeless hair. Generally, the reason behind dry hair is the reduction of natural oils on the scalp. This is generally due to excessive exposure to the sun, chlorinated water, overuse of hair dryers and other styling products.
You can bring sheen and life back to your dry and rough hair by following these easy remedies from your kitchen.
1. Banana Treatment:
Banana contains a lot of fibres, antioxidants, potassium and nutrients which can help to nourish the scalp. It can hydrate your dull and dry hair easily. In order to pamper your hair at home, take one banana and cut it into pieces. Now blend them to make a paste and add one spoon of honey to it. Mix together and apply the mask on the hair. Wait for some time and wash off with lukewarm water. You can also add yoghurt to the banana mask to treat dry and rough hair.
2. Beer Rinse:
Beer contains a lot of vitamins, proteins and active enzymes which can help to deal with dry, dull and damaged hair. Beer is said to be an excellent conditioner which can help to deal with damaged hair. Take one cup of beer and add 2-5 spoons of lemon juice to it. Mix together and rinse the hair with this. Wait for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. If needed, you can also add few drops of your favourite essential oil into the beer.
3. Papaya:
With essential nutrients and papain present in papaya, it can help to deal with dry and rough hair easily. Take few pieces of papaya and mash them with the help of a spoon. Now add one spoon of honey, lemon, and yoghurt to this paste. Blend all the ingredients together and apply on the scalp. Wait for some time and wash off with cold water.
4. Rice Milk Treatment:
Rice milk contains vitamins and potassium which provide strength to the hair follicle thus treating the dull and rough hair. Honey contains natural humectants which nourish, moisturizes and restore hydration on the scalp. Take one cup of rice milk and add two spoons of honey to it. Mix together and apply the mask on the hair. Leave the mixture on the hair and allow the mixture to settle for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with cold water.
5. Vinegar Rinse:
The acidic nature of vinegar can help to retain the moisture and hydration on the scalp. It plays a major role in maintaining pH level on the skin. It normalizes the oil production on the scalp, thus promoting soft and supple tresses. Take some shampoo in a bowl and add some vinegar to it. Mix together and wash your hair with this. Wash off with water after use.
6. Gram Flour Mask:
Gram flour is one of the most common kitchen ingredients which is beneficial for both, skin and hair. It is a soothing ingredient which can normalize the oil production thus leaving you with super soft tresses. In order to make the paste, take some gram flour and add some yoghurt to it. If needed, add one spoon of coconut milk to gram flour. Mix together until you get a thick consistency and apply on the scalp. Wash off after 15 minutes with cold water.
7. Shea Butter:
Shea butter contains a high amount of natural fats which works as an excellent conditioner for the hair. Also, it hydrates your scalp thus treating dry and rough hair easily. Take 100 grams of shea butter and melt it in the oven. Now add 2-3 spoons of rose essential oil to it. Mix together and apply on the scalp. Let it sit for some time and wash off with cold water.
